Mutah University achieves outstanding progress
according the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
The Times International announced today the
classification results of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (The
Impact Ranking 2021), Where Mutah University ranked second locally and came
within the category (301-400) globally according to the comprehensive results
of the classification, with the participation of 1240 international
universities that qualified for the classification from 98 countries, including
135 universities from 14 Arab countries, 14 national universities.
It is noteworthy that Al-Balqa Applied
University ranked first locally, while Mutah University ranked second.
Upon receipt this pleasant result, Dr. Arafat
Awajan, the head of Mutah University, said that the university's progress and
second-ranking locally proves the university's continuous pursuit by its
academic and administrative cadres and its students for excellence and
achieving an advanced level in international classifications, Expressing his
pride in this achievement, and assuring the progress for more, especially in
the field of scientific research and achieving quality control standards and
international classifications, pointing out that the university is working,
within its strategic plan, to strengthen its position among universities at the
local and global levels. As it is the only university that is distinguished
from other Jordanian universities by having both the military wing and the
civilian wing, and it always had the patronage by His Majesty King Abdullah II
Ibn Al-Hussein (may God protect him).
The head of Mutah also added that
participation in international rankings creates a healthy competitive
atmosphere between universities for development, which will help to improve the
position of Jordanian universities, promote Jordan globally, contribute to
attracting Arab and foreign students to study in Jordanian universities, and
improve the position and reputation of the higher education sector in Jordan.
He also expressed his pride in the successive
achievements of the university, and its tireless quest to achieve more
excellence. and thanked the university family for the efforts made in order to
improve the university and its progress in all fields.
