ContentRecycling Activities 1- Dry Batteries Recycling: Mutah University through the department of supplies has initiated a recycling program for used dry batteries with Prince Faisal Center for Dead Sea, Environmental and Energy Research. This program was aiming to collect and recycle the used dry batteries from various university departments and laboratories. This initiative was established also to reduce the environmental pollution to soil and water caused by toxic elements contained in the batteries. 2- Neon Lambs Recycling: Mutah University through the department of supplies and department of maintenance has initiated a recycling program for the used and broken Neon lambs. The program was executed by electrical division to collect the replace d and broken neon lambs from different university parts, aiming to reduce the environmental negative impacts too. 3- Water green waste: Recently; in cooperation with German International Cooperation Agency GIZ and Ministry of Water and Irrigation and Mutah University through Prince Faisal Center for Dead Sea, Environmental and Energy Research has engaged in recycling of green wastes generated from university campus. The main objective of the assignment is to assess the general environmental and social baseline conditions in the project area, identify and assess the significant environmental impacts (positive and negative) associated with the existing sludge management practices at the project site, determine the measures needed to minimize and mitigate monitor any adverse impacts, and to assess the existing solid waste characteristics and quantities (mainly organic waste) in Mutah University and adjacent neighborhood. 4- Paper recycling Mutah University through the department of supplies has initiated a recycling program for the huge waste paper form all university divisions. A huge used paper materials is now sold to a private recycling establishment, that provide the university of good financial resource, as well reducing the environmental impacts of these wastes. 5- Glassware recycling: Mutah University through the faculty of science and engineering workshops has initiated a recycling program for the broken and reused glassware generated from the faculty of department laboratories.
